Getting there is a hop, skip and a jump
Once you land on the big island of Puerto Rico your adventure to Culebra begins.... You have several options... * hire a cab right at the departure level of the airport, ( or rent a one-way car ) and drive east to passenger ferry that leaves from the seaside port of Fajardo. * Contact Bahia Marina Condo-Hotel reservations to organize a private charter flight. Click here for more info. The ferry, called the lancha (lawn-cha) by the locals, disembarks from the Fajardo Ferry Terminal, 3 times a day everyday of the week. The first ferry leaves at 9am the next one is at 3pm and the last passenger ferry to Culebra is at 7pm, (this is a really fun adventurous time to go to sea!). We will pick you up and take you to Bahia Marina Condo-Hotel for free, included with your stay. (Let us know when you are coming). If you can't make the passenger ferry you can buy a ticket as a passenger on most of the the cargo ferry trips. Following is more detailed information. You may also fill out a reservation request form. The taxi drive between San Juan and Fajardo you should allow between 1.5-2.5 hours. The typical taxi charge is approximately $65 to $85. The Voyage between Fajardo and Culebra is approximately 1 hour. Passenger fare is $2.25 per person each way. For vehicle and cargo fares, please call the Puerto Rico Maritime Authority.
